Fun Facts
I absolutely love to read. Some of my favorite authors include Jane Austen and Rosario Ferré. I can also speak three languages – Albanian, Spanish, and English of course – but I hope to learn more! I have a younger sister who is like my best friend, and we both play the violin. I love music, and I have been playing since I was nine years old. In the future, I hope to learn the piano!
About Me
I am a junior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience and minoring in Spanish Language and Literature at Loyola University in Chicago. I have been a member of the Dean's list since my freshman year, and I am a HEAR Scholar. In the future, I hope to attend medical school with the ultimate dream of becoming a physician. Although I am not set on exactly what type of doctor, my interests lie in the fields of neurology, dermatology, and pediatrics in general.
Experience
As a tutor at Loyola's campus Literacy Center, I work with immigrants and residents of the Rogers Park area in order to better their English comprehension and writing skills. This semester, I also taught a classroom of Chicago high school students skills to master the SAT. Working for Frog Tutoring will allow me to continue to help students thrive in their academics in an online setting!
Approach
Everyone learns differently, which is why I believe that the individualized approach to tutoring is crucial. Personally, I struggled in math courses, but I found hope through a math tutoring group in high school. The teachers that I worked with helped me look at the material in a way that was clearest to me, and I was able to ace my classes. I rely on creativity when I tutor, not only to help students ace their current class but to build skills and morale that can help in future courses!
