Fun Facts

I'm a huge fan of tennis, board games, and podcasts. Whenever the weather is nice, I like to be on the court, and when the weather isn't so nice, I'll be inside playing chess or scrabble. I enjoy a wide range of podcast genres including mysteries, politics, and comedies.

About Me

I received my bachelor's in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University and my master's in Biomedical Sciences from UNT Health Science Center. My ultimate goal is to become a healthcare professional. Tutoring has long been a passion of mine and I hope to continue tutoring throughout my future career as well.

Experience

I have served as a tutor and mentor since high school. In high school, I worked as a math and chemistry teacher for a summer program for middle school students. In college, I was actively involved in a health science mentorship program for 3 years. I also have 3+ years of experience in serving as a mathematics instructor at a learning center in Fort Worth.

Approach

As a tutor and mentor, I have noticed many students struggle with identifying a learning style most correlates to their goals. Whether auditory, visual, or kinesthetic, a learning style or a mix of learning styles sets a strong foundation for student success. In terms of understanding the material, I like to utilize a Socratic approach of teaching that serves as a guide to a solution through a strong sense of cooperation between myself and the student.
