Fun Facts
I love to be outside! When the sun is out, you can find me on the lake, hiking on a trail, or at a picnic. I will be attending Vanderbilt in the fall to obtain my Masters to become a counselor. I have a pitbull mix, and I spend every minute I can with her :)
About Me
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M in 2017. I then joined Teach For America, where I have been teaching ever since! I have taught 5th grade ESL, and kindergarten ESL and non-ESL students. I have started a mentorship organization to help our students grow socially and emotionally. I will be going to Vanderbilt in the fall for my Masters.
Experience
I have tutored for 10 years, anywhere from preschoolers to college students. I am fluent in Spanish and also have experience working with English Language Learners. I have taught 5th grade ESL for one year, kindergarten ESL for one year, and a kindergarten class with half bilingual students and half monolingual students for one year! My passion is with elementary students, but I am confident in certain subjects for any age.
Approach
My main philosophy in education is equity; I want to ensure that EVERY student has access to an excellent education. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make sure education isn't selective. I always get to know my students on a personal level, and teach them with the strategies they respond best to.
