Fun Facts

My greatest passion is backcountry backpacking and hiking. I love to travel to new lands and discover the unique beauty the world has to offer. My goal is to visit every National Park in America's National Park System and hike at each one, if hiking is available. While outdoor travel is very thrilling to me, I also love to visit beautiful cities and would like to visit other countries. I believe travel is the only thing you can spend money on that actually makes you richer.

About Me

I am a graduate from Purdue University where I studied Speech Language and Hearing Sciences. I graduated in 2017 and worked as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant in school systems. I plan to continue to work with children and start my own tutoring business. I am currently tutoring students in reading, math, science, and social studies. (between ages 7-13.)

Experience

I began tutoring and teaching in college as part of my clinical experience for my major. Since graduation I have worked with over 200 children on their academic success in and out of the classroom. As a speech and language teacher, it was my job to set kids teach a child speech sounds, reading, comprehension, context clues, social ettiqute, vocab, and so many other skills needed in the classroom and every day life. Now, I have started a business tutoring children online in various subjects.

Approach

Part of my education at Purdue trained me on various techniques to keep children engaged and excited when working with them. I use positve language when working with kiddos and work hard to allow them see how intelligent and capable they are. It is important that a child feels valued and confident, especially if we want them to improve and enjoy learning as much as possible.
