I love to travel with my family! We have travelled all over the world. My favorite trip was to Israel! It is a beautiful, exotic country with biblical history and exotic experiences. I also love to make arts and crafts. I make jewelry and enjoy creating original piece using a variety of textures and materials.

About Me

I graduated from college with a degree in Sociology. I also attended a graduate school of Theology and received a Master's Degree in Educational Ministry. I currently am on staff of a congregation as their Director of Children and Family Programs. I am responsible for planning programs for elementary boys and girls that are fun and encourage them in their faith.

Experience

I tutored elementary students for one year when I was a first grade teacher in mountain">Stone Mountain, Georgia. I tutored students in handwriting, reading, phonics and math. I worked with students one on one and in small groups. I was able to help them improve their writing skills reading comprehension spelling accuracy and math skills. I am currently a volunteer with a after school program called 'LaAmistad'. which is a program designed to provide academic support to Hispanic students.

Approach

I believe any child who wants to learn and improve his or her academic skills and ability can be successful if provided with support encouragement within a nurturing environment. Each student I work with after school is valued. It is my goal to as to make him/her feel that they have potential. And with my support he/she can overcome any deficiency or hurdle. It is my experience that students fail because they lack confidence. Confidence can be cultivated. That's part of my role a tutor.
