About Me
I am a graduate of Lesley University ( GO LYNX) having received my bachelor's degree in Expressive Arts therapy. While enrolled I was fortunate enough to have made Dean’s list as well as enjoy my time on the dance team. Prior to my time at Lesley, I attended Dean College for two years doing mostly Liberal studies work and again was lucky enough to make Dean’s list as well as graduate with honors.
Experience
I have had a good deal of experience working with children. Nevertheless, I think the most enjoyable and most impactful experience I've had was when I worked at a Jewish sleep-away camp where I taught visual art to all age groups. Through this experience, I learned how much of a passion I have for working with children and how much of a difference I can make in children's lives.
Approach
Not all tutor's approaches to helping the child are the same. I have had my fair share of good and bad tutors. However one thing I have learned through the experiences I’ve had is that the tutor shouldn't do the work for the student. Rather, the tutor needs to provide the tools and skills to help the child move forward independently. In order to do this, the tutor needs to meet the child where she/he is cognitively and approach each lesson in a way that helps them.
