Fun Facts
Although I definitely qualify as a nerd, I'm also a very active person. I will play literally any sport! I ran cross country and track my freshman year of college, and now I run for a semi-pro team in my city. I love being around people, especially if I'm doing something with them! Things I like to do are: playing board games, hiking, backpacking, running, playing sports, socializing, reading.
About Me
I am about to start my junior year at the louisville">University of Louisville. I am a Math major, planning to get an Actuarial Science minor. My freshman year I attended the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and majored in Applied & Computational Mathematics.
Once I graduate, I plan to work as a data analyst, cost estimator, or math teacher! And hopefully I'll get to coach cross country and track someday!
Experience
Throughout high school and college, I have tutored fellow students in primarily math, but also English, sciences, and many other subjects. I've never done any formal (paid) tutoring, but I have many hours of experience with helping people to not just learn, but also enjoy math!
I trained extensively in high school for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT, and did fairly well, so I know how to help others prepare for these important tests!
Approach
I know math can be difficult and annoying - yes, even as a math major, there are times when I hate math :) But if you learn how to enjoy math, and to see it as a challenge and problem to solve rather than a useless subject, then you will succeed!
I will do my best to help you have fun while I tutor you - I don't want you to feel like you're slugging through math every time we meet. But I'm also here to help you learn! Most importantly, never be afraid to ask questions - that's how you learn!
