Flashcard Flip:
Lay all flashcards face UP. The adult would verbally say the sight word and the child would flip the card over. Next, the adult would flip over a flashcard so it's face up again and have the child state the sight word. You are now working on the child receptively and expressively stating the words.
Flashcard Dash:
Set a timer and see how long it takes the child to get through the deck of flashcards. Record the time and each session, see how their number decreases!
Flashcard Jump:
Lay flashcards face up on the ground. The adult will say the sight word and the child must jump on the correct flashcard.
Flashcard Match:
Make a duplicate set of the flashcards. Play the game "memory" and have the child make matches with identical words!
Flashcard Hunt:
Hide flashcards around the room. Child goes on a hunt for the flashcards and must say the word on the flashcard when they find it!
Flashcard Bang:
Put all flashcards into a container along with a few extra flashcards that say "Bang" on them. The child must play with the adult. The child and adult take turns pulling a card out of the container and saying the word. If they say it correctly, they get to keep the card. If they pull a "bang" card, they must put all of their cards back into the container!
