I have worked as a Home detroit">Tutor in my neighborhood for about a year. I tutored students K-12 in an array of subjects and also offered homework help. When I first started learning math in school, I considered it a memorization game. However, as I moved up to Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus I quickly figured out that it was anything but that. To really learn math or any subject for that matter you have to have a really good understanding of the basic concepts. Once those concepts are hardened skills, learning new material will be easy. It will be as if you have learned a new language and from that point on you are only adding to your vocabulary and not still struggling to understand the language. That is why I always encourage and guide my students to ask as many questions as possible so that no aspect of the content stays a mystery to them. That along with a positive attitude that no question is too hard to solve is my approach.
