One interesting fact about me is that my family gave me the name, Mia because it means "mine" in Italian. Also, some of my favorite hobbies include running and baking. Another fun fact is that I am currently searching for lessons to start learning how to play the piano!

About Me

I am a junior at Wayne State University majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in mathematics. I completed my Associate of General Studies in May 2021 at Macomb Community College prior to transferring to Wayne State. I plan to pursue a career in medicine by attending medical school in the fall semester of 2025.

Experience

In high school, I had the opportunity to tutor advanced mathematics and science students in Pre-calculus and AP Calculus BC while being involved in the Mu Alpha Theta organization. During my studies at University, I have attended weekly organized study groups for my classes which allow each student to help each other improve our skills as a team.

Approach

Growing up, I suffered from severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder which made it difficult for me to gain the confidence to expand my educational capabilities. However, in high school, I had a mathematics teacher who taught me the self-determination, discipline, and dedication needed to overcome the anxieties I had related to the failure. The most valuable lesson this teacher provided was the fact that I simply was able to achieve anything I put my mind to. These valuable qualities have allowed me
