Fun Facts

My passions have always been dancing, singing and writing. While I was in High School I was involved in a vast majority of different dance types for school shows, such as Hip Hop, Soca and Bollywood. I was accepted into a Gifted Creative Writing English class from 7th grade up until my Junior Year of High School, where I was involved in the Patterns Book Club.

About Me

I am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology at the University at albany">Albany I am a sophomore and I aspire to have a career in Sports Medicine.

I have worked for the Specialized High School Institute in Brooklyn, NY while I was in High School. There, I facilitated the personal, social, and academic development of the students. I successfully resolved conflicts amongst them, planned social and educational programs while served as a positive role model. Additionally I have also worked as a brooklyn">tutor both privately and as a volunteer brooklyn">tutor for Midwood High School, when I was enrolled there.

In brooklyn">tutoring my students, I have helped them build confidence in their ability to achieve both academically and socially, specifically assisting them in improving their English Language Arts, Foreign Language and Science skills. These are my best areas to brooklyn">tutor in. I was also apart of a program called the Teen Center at the Flatbush YMCA, where part of my volunteer activities included homework help for the younger children at the YMCA.

My approach to helping any of my students is to first find out what they already know about a subject, or find out where they're comfortable and build their skillset. I find that having a child reveal to themselves what they know builds confidence and improves their ability to learn. Another approach that is popular among students I have tutored is to simplify any problem they are faced with to it's very basic meaning and gradually increasing the difficulty of a subject.

Experience

I have worked as a Teacher's Aid for the Specialized High School Institute in Brooklyn, Ny. There, I was able to work out my brooklyn">tutoring approach when aiding the children with their work.

Approach

My approach is to fortify the child's confidence in the material. Then through sessions we work through homework and I supplement the information through worksheets.
