About Me
I am a senior majoring in Theoretical Mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I am currently performing research in the sub-field of Representation Theory; more specifically, I study representations of compact groups. Beginning next year, I intend to pursue graduate studies in Algebraic Topology. Ultimately, I would like to become a college professor teaching and doing research in mathematics.
Throughout my academic life, I have always been passionate about boston">tutoring my peers in various subjects. In order to fulfill this passion of mine, I decided to spend one hour each day to boston">tutor my classmates in the library during high school. We started with a few people, but more students joined the group as days passed. We all benefited from each other while we had fun and enjoyed studying together. This extra hour was not just a study time; it was a time to share and learn, to inspire and be uplifted, to find new friends and bring a whole new dimension to our student life. Similarly in college, I continued to boston">tutor many students in and out of MIT simply because it is an absolute pleasure to share my knowledge with others. The spirit of sharing has always stayed within me and I see Frog boston">Tutoring as one place that will provide me with the opportunity to foster this spirit to the highest degree.
My boston">tutoring method is simple: learning through doing. This is how I have learned and taught mathematics over the years; and so far it has worked perfectly. Instead of giving straight answers, I guide my students to arrive at the answer on their own. The joy and satisfaction of solving a math problem is so great that I feel it is immoral to deprive anyone of it. I strongly believe that the methods I employ in boston">tutoring mathematics help students become independent learners and equip them with the tools they need to be successful throughout their academic career.
