Fun Facts
When I'm not busy at school or studying, I spend a large portion of my free time playing, writing, and listening to music. I've been professionally playing guitar, bass, drums, piano, and singing in bands for the past 4 years. During the winter, I also spend time snowboarding at Mt. Holly or Pine Knob.
About Me
I am a Sophomore at wayne-state-university">Wayne State University majoring in Physics. I've been on the Dean's List for my entire college career. Once I obtain my Bachelor's Degree, I plan to pursue a PhD in Physics at an Ivy League University. As for a career, I hope to become a professor at a university and do research in Nuclear Physics.
During High School, I frequently tutored my classmate in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and English. Upon entering college, although I did not do so through any organization, I continued detroit">tutoring my classmates and friends in the courses that I excelled in such as Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and Writing. In contrast to these experiences, I have also given guitar, bass, and piano lessons for about 2 years. Although the content of these lessons differs from that of academic coursework, I have found that many methods that are used to learn music also apply to learning in general.
I believe that the key to doing well in school, particularly mathematics and science classes, revolves around understanding the purpose behind the work. Rather than tediously memorizing formulas and definitions, taking the time to learn the logic behind various principals will ultimately improve grades and provide a solid foundation for learning in the future.
